Frequently asked questions
Is this based on real restaurant data?
The card timing and order values are modeled on typical QSR and casual dining phone patterns. Phone orders have shorter windows because real callers hang up after 2–3 rings if no one answers.
Why do phone cards expire so fast?
In reality, most callers hang up within 20–30 seconds if not answered. The simulator compresses this to 5–8 seconds to reflect the real stakes during a rush when attention is split.
What does the grade represent?
It maps roughly to capture rate — how much of possible revenue you handled vs. what slipped away. A real Friday night with one staff member up front typically yields a C or D.
Can I play with sound?
Yes. Toggle 'Sound: On' before starting. Phone cards play a higher tone; missed calls play a lower one. It makes the chaos feel more real.
How would an AI phone system change this?
Every phone card would be captured automatically regardless of what else is happening on screen. Your effective score would be your human captures plus all missed phone revenue — the number shown in the 'With AI on phones' stat.
